On July 17, 2018, Rotarians, family and friends gathered for the 98th Annual Installation of Officers. Attendees were welcomed by piano music from Rotarian Jim McNabney. After a welcome message from Secretary Treasurer Stephanie Madison, a delicious dinner was served, courtesy of Nick Loxas and  Dynasty Banquets. Guest Speaker of the evening was District Governor, Dan Ryan, who spoke of this years Rotary mission of "being the inspiration". Officers and Directors were then installed:

The club was very excited to install new member, David Plesac. Following the induction was Awards and Recognition. Rotarian Jim Prisby recognized Clyde Rector (49 years) and Jim McNabney (10 years) with Perfect Attendance Awards. Rotarian Jim McNabney recognized Rev. Bassam Abdallah, Linda Randolph, and Rocharda Moore Morris as Paul Harris Fellows. President Dave Mays followed with some special recognitions. Jim Prisby received an award of thanks for his 6 years served as Secretary and Chuck Sanger  for his 6 years served as treasurer. Jim McNabney a special awards for his 20+ years of service as Club Music Director. The following Rotarians received a special Above and Beyond award for their service to the club: Mary Kaczka, Nick Loxas,  Stephanie Madison, Rocharda Moore Morris, and Chuck Pintar, Linda Randolph.
 
The evening ended with some closing remarks from Dave Mays. Dave shared his personal Rotary experiences and how Rotary has impacted him and his family. He spoke of Service Above Self and the many friendships he has gained. He also shared some of his visions for the 2018-19 Rotary year. Dave then invited his wife Kendra and son Mason to the podium. Mason gave a "happy buck" and shared the news that Baby Mays will be joining us in Dec 2018!!
 
The Rotary Club of Hammond, which was Chartered in 1920, is a service organization with members from Hammond, East Chicago, and Whiting. The Club participates in many projects throughout the year, such as a Holiday Toy Drive for the Haven House, the World Affairs Conference, which gathers the best and brightest students to discuss current world issues, and The Dictionary Project, which provides all Hammond 3rd graders with dictionaries.
